About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Qualified Audit Senior to join a growing Corporate Services team in Kettering.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced audit professional who is looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and commercially focused practice environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, leading and delivering high-quality audit assignments, while working closely with Managers and Partners. You will also have responsibility for supervising junior members of the team, managing client relationships and contributing to the continued development of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Partners and Managers in delivering high-quality audit services to a portfolio of clients, alongside related accounts, compliance and advisory work.
- Plan, complete and supervise audit assignments both on client premises and remotely, ensuring work meets professional and internal standards.
- Identify audit risks, technical matters and key completion points, escalating issues to Managers or Partners where appropriate.
- Prepare audit files, working papers, statutory accounts and completion documentation to a high standard.
- Undertake more complex audit, accounts and compliance work for corporate clients.
- Liaise directly with clients to obtain information required for audit and accounts assignments, taking a proactive approach and demonstrating strong questioning and analytical skills.
- Monitor assignment progress, quality, budgets and deadlines, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
- Accurately record chargeable time and work effectively to support strong recovery levels.
- Provide coaching, supervision and support to trainees and junior members of the team.
- Identify opportunities for additional services and value-added advice that may benefit clients.
- Ensure all documentation is finalised and issued to clients and relevant authorities within required timescales.
- Assist with ad hoc projects and assignments as required.
- Maintain appropriate continuing professional development and attend relevant training.
Key Skills
- Strong audit planning, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent IT skills, with confidence using audit, accounts and Microsoft Office software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent client-facing and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead assignments, supervise junior staff and review work effectively.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of UK auditing standards, audit methodology and audit file completion requirements.
- Good working knowledge of financial reporting requirements and accounts preparation.
- Working knowledge of business taxation, particularly Corporation Tax and VAT.
- Experience with audit and accounting systems, ideally including Inflo, MWP, Xero or similar cloud-based platforms.
Qualifications
Essential:
- ACA or ACCA qualified.
Desirable:
- Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
Experience

- Recent audit and accounts experience gained within a professional practice environment.
- Experience of leading audit assignments.
- Experience supervising and reviewing the work of junior team members.
Desirable:
- Experience using audit and cloud accounting software such as Inflo, MWP, Xero or similar systems.
- Ability to work from the firm’s Kettering office and travel to client sites within a reasonable commuting distance.
- Flexibility to work additional hours when required to meet client and business needs.
