About the Opportunity
I’m currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Practice Accounts & Advisory Manager to join a growing independent practice.
You can be based from either the Warwickshire or Birmingham office, depending on which location works best for you, with hybrid working available.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant who wants to move beyond a traditional compliance role and take on a varied position combining accounts, taxation, advisory work and client relationship management.
You’ll manage a diverse portfolio of clients, providing commercially focused advice and building strong, long-term relationships while having the opportunity to develop your own career and support the wider team.
The Role
You’ll take responsibility for managing and developing your own portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality accounts, compliance and tax advisory services.
Your work will cover areas including accounts, VAT, Self Assessment, Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax, alongside more complex advisory matters.
You’ll be encouraged to think commercially, identify opportunities and provide practical, tailored solutions to clients.
There will also be opportunities to support business development, develop junior team members and work closely with senior colleagues on more complex client matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a portfolio of clients, building trusted, long-term relationships.
- Deliver high-quality accounts, tax compliance and advisory services.
- Provide advice across Income Tax, VAT, Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Trusts and Estates and HMRC investigations.
- Review complex tax computations and identify technical issues and planning opportunities.
- Deliver clear, commercially focused advice and practical solutions.
- Lead, coach and develop junior members of the team.
- Identify opportunities with existing clients and support new business development.
- Work with senior colleagues on complex client matters.
- Contribute to improving processes, technology and efficiency across the practice.
What We’re Looking For
- ACA, ACCA and/or CTA qualified.
- Strong experience across accounts and taxation within a practice environment.
- Experience managing a varied client portfolio.
- Strong technical knowledge with a commercial approach to problem solving.
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
- Confident managing your own workload and taking responsibility for client relationships.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- A team player who is also comfortable working independently.
- An existing professional network would be advantageous.
